Vlad was watching how the impaled men went down the pole. He was disappointed most of them were already dead and those that weren't were in agony. He remember the Turk and lament how he didn't questioned him at once when he survived being stabbed 17 times. Instead Vlad impaled him and the Turk laughed and while he did he talked about how power was in the Blood and spoke of a collage in the shadows. The Turk, that said knew the Dracul, Vlad's father, yet was younger than Vlad himself haunted Vlad's dreams and nightmares. The Turk that burst in flame as soon the sun touched his skin yet held the promise of so much power.
That is why Vlad impale all these men. Because there may be others like the Turk and the only other option is to see if they burst into flame when exposed to the sun. Is safer to impale them, he reasons, because it won't hurt the creatures he seek the way the sun will. He want their secrets, their power, their knowledge. He needs at least one alive and to obtain it he will impale the whole World if he must.
